LONDON- 14 July 2011 – Ixxus today announced that they have successfully developed and deployed a global Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform for a prestigious global educational publisher based on their Ixxus Publishing Platform (IPP). The IPP is built on Alfresco technology which was chosen by the publisher as a candidate for their new system.

As the largest pure Alfresco consultancy in the world today, and the only Alfresco Platinum partner in the UK, Ixxus was the ideal choice to deliver the solution.The system consists of a self-contained, customised setup of an Alfresco Share instance in a virtualised environment, integrated with third-party tools and platforms such as MS Office and Adobe InDesign.

The challenge was to present a cross-purpose, unified platform for open sharing with an integrated range of services for users, removing any disjoints or inconsistencies in the user experience caused by moving between siloed applications.

Integration with currently used third-party tools-of-choice such as Adobe InDesign allows staff to continue working as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. The flexibility of Alfresco Share enables these tools to be changed and new ones added when required, providing a solution that is fully future-proofed.

With departments worldwide, the DAM system needed to be accessible globally, so Ixxus have ensured that the service is available to a select number of users within multiple global locations.
