Information Management 'Pub & Grub' Meetup
The focus of the meet-up will be around Information Management and Alfresco ECM in particular. It’s free to attend, and we'll be providing some pub grub for attendees.
This meet-up will be hosted by our Senior Architect, Graeme Seaton, and will also include talks from Robin Bramley and Chris Hudson. For this session we’ll have the following three talks and then wrap-up with networking drinks. The subjects we'll be covering are:
A brief introduction to Alfresco - Graeme Seaton
Alfresco is the leading open source alternative for enterprise content management (ECM). It couples the innovation of open source with the stability of a true enterprise-class platform. The open source model allows Alfresco to use best-of-breed open source technologies and contributions from the open source community members, to get higher quality software produced more quickly at a much lower cost.
Graeme is a highly experienced solution architect with a long-term passion for Content and Search architecture, and previously held the role of Head of Content Development at Yell.com. He has a wide technological base including MarkLogic, Solr/Lucene, Alfresco, Hadoop and Hive.
Discovering Information in Alfresco - Robin Bramley
There are a number of ways that content can be navigated within Alfresco to facilitate the discovery of relevant information. This talk will explore what’s easily achievable out of the box or with existing extensions and how this could be taken to the next level using machine learning techniques.
Robin is an open source contributor, blogger, author and conference speaker - he has been working with Alfresco since v0.6 and presented two sessions at the Alfresco 2011 DevCon in London.
Alfresco Content on Big Data Stores - Chris Hudson
Big Data may be the biggest challenge facing the enterprise today. This talk will investigate different methods of leveraging Alfresco with Big Data content stores and some of the issues around their coding and development; with a particular focus on communicating via a web-based interface.
Chris is an ECM Consultant working on Alfresco and other enterprise grade open source projects, and presented a successful session at Alfresco 2011 DevCon on integrating Alfresco with publishing tools.
Spaces for this event are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. In order to secure your place, please can you register here.
