Java Software Technical Lead
Systems Integrator near the City of London requires a Technical Lead to help deliver high-profile, content-rich enterprise applications using Java and content management technologies.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in designing and developing content-rich enterprise applications using Java technologies, and will have an excellent grounding in software engineering generally as well as team leading and mentoring.
Required facets:
- 5 years+ core Java (J2SE) including Java 5+;
- 2 years+ designing and building Java-based, enterprise-scale web applications;
- Excellent knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, and CSS;
- Extensive experience of working with XML technology;
- Enthusiastic and productive;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence to work comfortably with customers up to board level;
- Excellent team-leading and mentoring abilities with experience of at least two full projects in this role;
- Experience of Agile processes;
- Degree-level qualification in a numerate subject;
- Knowledge of a range of design patterns with the ability to apply them appropriately.
- Broad knowledge of a wide range of Java frameworks and open-source projects
- Good knowledge of the Spring Framework
Desirable facets:
- Experience of developing web applications backed by a content management system;
- Experience of developing Javascript code;
- Knowledge of the Alfresco CMS

Java/Web Software Engineer
Systems Integrator near the City of London requires a Software Engineer to help deliver Enterprise Content Management projects using Alfresco ECM and Java technologies.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in developing web applications using Java technologies, and will have an excellent grounding in software engineering generally.
Required facets:
- 2 years+ core Java (J2SE);
- 2 years+ building Java applications;
- Excellent knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, and CSS;
- Experience of working with XML and XSL;
- Enthusiastic and productive – willing and able to learn quickly;
- Strong verbal communication skills;
- Excellent team-working abilities;
- Experience of or strong desire to learn Agile development techniques.
Desirable facets:
- Experience of developing Freemarker (very desirable) and XSLT templates;
- Experience of developing Javascript code;
- Experience of Java frameworks such as Spring (very desirable) and JSF;
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Science or related discipline.
