Invest in quality

Content is the engine of the publishing industry, so the quality of that content is essential. Publishers have to make a decision between paid content and advertising. But, regardless of that choice, if there has been no investment in quality content neither business model will work.

Focus on data

If content is the engine, then data is the oil of the industry. It is needed for product optimisation, user analysis, personalisation and automation. It is essential that publishers stay up-to-date with new technologies and ensure staff have the training to get the most value from these technologies – and the data they generate.
